Subject: Response to Proposed Calile Develipment Application reference: 132008.176.05 From: Mia Themistocleous Date: 2023-08-07T12:00:02+00:00 To: Mailbox Council Mail You don't often get email from [email protected]. Dear Sir/Madam, My name is Mia and I am one of the residents on Serenity Close, Noosa Heads. This is email is pertaining to my concern over the proposed development (Application reference: 132008.176.05). I am concerned about the loss of vegetation and the natural treescape along Serenity Close as a result of this development. The noise pollution is also another concerning factor given the size of the development. Grant St and Katharina St are both very narrow streets and are not suitable to serve as the main entry and exit for commercial development. It certainly will create a lot of parking issues along Grant St, Serenity Close, Natasha Ave and Katharina St, plus the excessive, unnecessary noise pollution from the coaches, cars and visitors which won't be fair for the permanent residents and owners living in this area. This will further add to the congestion around Noosa Junction roundabout leading to Noosa Drive, especially during peak seasons. With the rising number of temporary visitors along Serenity St, it will further increase the risk of rubbish dumping and waste mismanagement not only on the streets, but also the footpaths leading the to the jetty and river. I foresee Noosa Council will have to spend more money on getting the Council cleaners to remove the rubbish and waste deposit around the areas which can also be bad for the habitat in the natural reserve and river behind the development. Serenity Close and its surrounding is such a tranquil and peaceful place for the local residents to take a walk and walk their dogs while enjoying the birds sing amongst the natural trees. It will be a shame to lose these beautiful surroundings to a modern development which inevitably will spoil the environment. Please, Noosa Council needs to take a serious consideration on the impact this may bring to the area. Kind Regards, ________________________________ Mia Themistocleous
