Dear Sir,

We would like to register our objections to the above development application.

As residents of the Noosa Area for over ten years we object to the above application on the following grounds.

1. Two thirds of the proposed development is on land zoned “recreational and open space.” This land zoning indicates that it is also “Core Koala Habitat”  or “Koala Priority Habitat” land which would be lost to koalas and other flora and fauna should this development be approved.

2. At 12 metres high it will overpower the existing buildings on the site.

3. The Noosa Springs car park is already utilised to capacity, yet the DA suggests that this is where the clients and staff will park. As there is already insufficient parking for  golfers, existing businesses, and restaurant at peak times this additional burden will see inadequate facilities and this has not been adequately addressed in the DA.

4. An additional 224 occupants plus staff will significantly affect the already existing fire evacuation risk with potentially fatal outcomes.

We believe that this development contravenes the spirit of the Noosa Plan 2020 and further undermines its integrity. Something that we are very much against.

We trust you will take our comments into consideration when you are making a decision regarding this development application and hope that you will find it inappropriate for the area.
