27 BOTTLEBRUSH AVENUE, NOOSA HEADS
5.0 SLOPE STABILITY ASSESSMENT
5.1 Existing Conditions
The Noosa Planning Scheme 2020 includes a landslide hazard overlay map (Ref. extract in Text Figure 8)
which indicates that most of the site is within a Moderate (pale yellow shading) Landslide Hazard Area. A
small section of the central part of the site is mapped within a Very Low/Low (no shading) Landslide Hazard
Area.

Text Figure 8: Extract from NSC landslide hazard overlay mapping
It should be noted that the Noosa landslide hazard map is a broad-scale indication of the potential
landslide susceptibility and is superseded by this site-specific assessment. The allotment did not exhibit
any visible surface features which would indicate global slope instability during our walkover: no landslide
back scarps, noteworthy groundwater seepage or areas of naturally ‘hummocky’ ground were observed.
Distress observed in the existing retaining walls and driveway is likely related to factors other than slope
R
instability (e.g. poor construction, age etc.).
