PROPOSED UNIT DEVELOPMENT
27 BOTTLEBRUSH AVENUE, NOOSA HEADS
4.2 Topography
During the site walk-over, topographic features specific to the site were noted, and ground slopes were
recorded using a hand-held clinometer. As illustrated in Text Figure 6 below, the site is located on the south-
westerly facing flank of an ancient sand dune which crests about 200 m to the east/north-east.
The natural surface profile had been interrupted by historic landscaping and residential construction; with
inferred unaltered ground slopes along the side boundaries measured at the time of our assessment of
between about 12° and 14°. Based on our observations it appeared that cut and fill earthworks in the order
of about 1.5 m deep and 1 m high had been undertaken across the site. Most areas across the site were
terraced and gently sloping with cut/fill embankments supported by retaining walls. No irregular surface
features were noted which would indicate global slope instability.

4.3 Geology
Available geological information 1 indicates that the site is underlain by Pleistocene age dune sand
(Ref: Text Figure 7) and is near a contact with the older Noosa Quartz Diorite formation.
