6.4 Emergency Response
The nearest fire station to the subject site is the Tewantin Fire & Rescue Station, located at 2 Hilton Esplanade, Tewantin QLD
4565, approximately 6.8 km via the fastest route. Under normal traffic conditions, the estimated travel time for emergency
response is 8 minutes.
Based on modelled fire characteristics (refer to Table I), a fire front within HA1 is projected to advance at approximately 24.8 m
per minute, HA2 at 24.3 m per minute, and HA3 at 28.6 m per minute. With the estimated fire response time of 8 minutes, the
greatest potential for the front to advance is 229 m before emergency services arrive, assuming resources are available. Whilst
not optimal for supporting extended first attack suppression, the configuration of the hazardous vegetation unit would not
support a fully engaged fire immediately, so the predicted rate of spread is considered conservative. The actual rate of spread
would be initially reduced, providing the first response with a greater opportunity for first-attack suppression. Additionally, the
maintained rural residential areas surrounding the subject site acting as a buffer to future structures would slow the fire spread
rate and dampen radiant heat from an advancing fire front, providing additional time for the first response.
As such, it would be considered a tolerable risk concerning the proximity of emergency services.

6.5 Hazardous Chemicals and Materials
The proposed development does not propose potential land uses that would be likely to store, use or handle dangerous goods
above the threshold quantities specified in Table 15.1 of Schedule 15 of the Work Health and Safety Regulation.

6.6 Mobility & Ingress/Egress Capacity
The proposed lots will utilise an existing access easement (Refer to Emt C SP199340) located from the southwestern extent of
the site and connecting directly to McKinnon Drive. The proposed reconfiguration will additionally feature a proposed access
easement in the southwest corner of the site to provide direct access to the existing ingress and egress point.
The development is expected to marginally increase the number of vehicles using the existing and proposed access easements
and site access. Within the context of the proposed application and existing surrounding land uses, the ingress and egress
points are considered to present a tolerable risk for future end users.
Concerning emergency service vehicle manoeuvrability, the existing access arrangements is considered to achieve an
acceptable outcome for emergency vehicle access. These easements are designed to ensure adequate access and
manoeuvrability for emergency vehicles.

6.7 Bushfire Severity Modelling
To anticipate and assess the potential severity of a bushfire attack from hazardous vegetation, the predetermined variables for
vegetation characteristics, slope values, and relative fuel loads have been used to model key fire parameters, which are detailed
in Table I below. It is noted that only confirmed hazard areas have been included within fire severity modelling.
