RFI - slope stability reporting
RECOR Pty Ltd 22393-001-Rev0
26 October 2022
distress appeared to be related to age, poor construction and possibly settlement of the upper sands rather
than global slope instability.
As mentioned previously an unretained cutting was observed adjacent to the north-eastern corner of the site
(on the neighbouring property). At the time of the assessment, the footings of a carport were exposed by the
excavation (Ref. Text Figure 7). Further to the west, remaining areas of the cutting were supported by a
concrete block retaining wall.

3.0 ASSESSMENT OF LAND STABILITY
3.1 Existing Conditions
The Noosa Council (NC) Planning Scheme 2020 includes a landslide hazard overlay map (Ref. extract in
Text Figure 8), which indicates that most of the site is within a Moderate (pale brown shading) landslide
hazard zone.

It should be noted that the NC landslide hazard map is a broad-scale indication of the potential landslide
susceptibility and is superseded by this site-specific assessment. No visual signs of global slope
instability were observed across the allotment. No landslide back scarps, groundwater springs, or areas
of naturally ‘hummocky’ ground were observed.
