                                          PROPOSED SUBDIVISION
                                          41 TALLOWWOOD PLACE, BLACK MOUNTAIN

6.6 Geotechnical Certification of Operational Works
NC may require the subdivision Operational Works to be certified by a geotechnical RPEQ prior to Plan
Sealing. Should Tectonic be required to certify the Operational Works, inspections must be completed by
Tectonic at various stages during construction (e.g. following site stripping, post completion etc.) to ensure
the recommendations provided within this report have been adhered too. Tectonic should be contacted prior
to commencement of Operational Works to confirm specific inspection requirements.

            7.0 WASTEWATER TREATMENT AND DISPOSAL
An assessment of the type and configuration of wastewater system that may be suitable for a proposed
            development requires:
 Assumptions to be made regarding the typical building/visitor configuration and probable
                      wastewater flow; and
 Evaluation of the terrain-soil capacity to accept treated wastewater; and
 Consideration of NC wastewater treatment and disposal system construction and siting
                      requirements.

            7.1 Existing Wastewater Infrastructure
The existing residence will be unaffected by the proposed subdivision and will continue to be serviced by an
existing wastewater treatment system, situated to the west of the existing house. The existing sewerage
treatment and disposal infrastructure servicing the residence was inspected during the walkover.
The residence appeared to be serviced by an operational aerated wastewater treatment system. It was
understood that the system produced at least Secondary standard effluent, with treated effluent from the
system piped to a surface application area downslope.
At the time of inspection no indications of inadequate operation or failure of the system were observed (e.g.
wet, soft ground, seepage or irregular grass growth).
The existing wastewater system is expected to be sufficient to continue to service the existing residence,
assuming the system was originally designed and installed to handle the respective residential outputs and is
able to meet current NC requirements. This system (including land application area) should be inspected
and serviced by a licensed plumber to confirm that it remains fit for purpose and conforms with NC
            requirements.
Text Figure 15 below shows the existing wastewater treatment infrastructure observed.
