PLANNING & ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 7 AUGUST 2018

For young people between 15 and 22 employment is most frequently in the sectors of
accommodation and food services and retail trade, then construction and health care and social
assistance increases in significance for residents in their mid-twenties to thirties (possibly less
likely to be their first job).
For workers beyond the age of 65, health care and social assistance, professional, scientific and
technical services and retail trade seem to be sectors that retain more senior workers.

Previous Council Consideration
In March 2015 Council endorsed the Community Profile prepared by AEC Group for use in policy
preparation, including the Social Strategy and the New Noosa Plan. The information within that
report has now been superseded by the 2016 census results and this report serves as a partial
update to the earlier community profile.
