A copy of the development application is being provided to you in advance of the Acknowledgement Notice to
facilitate the timely referral and assessment of the development application.
The development application is also being provided on a DVD rather than file upload via MyDAS due to the
size of the application.
Once an Acknowledgement Notice is received, we will immediately complete the referral process pursuant to
section 272 of the Sustainable Planning Act 2009 (SPA), enabling the commencement of the referral agency
assessment period, by providing a copy of the Acknowledgement Notice and attending to payment of SARA’s
development assessment fees.
We calculate SARA’s development assessment fee for the development application, in accordance with
Schedule 7A of the SPR, to total $8,469.00, as follows:
> Item 7 Material change of use of premises for which a referral agency is stated in Sch 7, table 3, item
5 (i.e. material change of use involving building work completely in the Coastal Management District
and involving the construction of new premises exceeding 1,000m2 gross floor area): $2,823.00
> Item 26(e) Operational work for which a referral agency is stated in Sch 7, table 2, item 13 (i.e.
operational work that is interfering with quarry material as defined by the Coastal Protection and
Management Act on State coastal land above the high-water mark within a Coastal Management
District): $2,823.00
> Item 48(a) Development in LGA population 2 for which a referral agency is stated in Sch 7, table 3,
item 2 (i.e. State transport infrastructure matters, being development exceeding the thresholds in
Schedule 9): $2,823.00
We look forward to confirmation of SARA’s development assessment fee by return.
Once the referral process has been completed, we will be in contact to arrange a meeting with the assigned
case officer to provide an overview of the development application, the aspects of development which trigger
referral and any other information which may assist with SARA’s understanding and assessment of the
development application.
