Details of Submission I (We), make the following submission: Concerning the proposed "development" for this site - there was good grounds for rejecting earlier applications for this area. It borders the last remaining coastal wetland area close to Noosa Heads, is the only remaining area of linked vegetation from Noosa to Weyba Creek, It is rich in remnant rainforest that once stretched around Leslie drive area on the North west side of Cooloola Hill. The only remaining site where this touches the water. It is habitat for seabirds and frogs and provides a link of koalas thoroughfare. It is proposed for "eco" cabins, which inevitably will result in removal of those trees marked "High retention value Protected" for owners and occupiers views and amenity, as has happened across RACV,Settlers cove and Grant street areas. BAL ratings will require significant removal of linked branches over buildings. Introduction of soil into wetlands and it is unnecessary for the local region or accommodation provision. There are other sites how about the old bowls Club site. RACV is using greed and stealth to do this extension for financial gain it provides no gain for locals or protection of the little native vegetation left. There is no possible way of retaining the trees with the massive underground tank and stormwater plan - the two don't match. There will be, as stated in the ecology report,- Inadvertent clearing Edge effects,Increased weed invasion (usually because they plant cordylines and spider liles to save costs), Erosion and sediment issues,Loss of threatened fauna and flora, Inadvertent mortality through cars and poisons,Loss of habitat features,Loss of movement pathways. Read the ecology report This extension should not be approved. Just because the submission is correctly made does not make it morally or ethically or environmentally appropriate - where does this stop Noosa Council. This is noted as Koala habitat they are endangered. This is an objection to this project.
