I would like to formally object to the hotel development project at Noosa Springs.

Today Koalas were declared an endangered species in Queensland.

Just in time to save the Noosa Springs Koalas.

I was totally unaware that Koalas were surviving in Noosa and am flabbergasted that Council would consider moving them from their home.

We should be rejoicing that this precious species is still with us and not sharing the fate of those in the Noosa National Park.

Relocating a vulnerable Koala population to build an inappropriate foreign-owned high rise development is outrageous.

Further, Koala Offset payments are totally inappropriate.  Relocation of traumatised wild life to other habitats is risky.

If this project goes ahead the fate of these Koalas will be on Noosa Council’s head.

You won’t be able to claim that a previous Council granted the development permit as you did with the extension of Noosa Civic and the Sunrise Beach nursing home where wild life habitat was destroyed.
