That Council
- Note the report by the Environmental Services Manager to the General Committee Meeting dated 8 September 2026 and approve the following Biosecurity Surveillance Program for 2027- 2031 for the Noosa Council region in accordance with section 235 of the Biosecurity Act 2014:
- Survey Area 1: 1 January to 31st March each year until the end of 2031 for the localities of Cooroy, Cooroy Mountain, Tinbeerwah, Cooroibah and that part of Doonan that is within the Noosa Council boundary;
- Survey Area 2: 1 April to 30 June each year until the end of 2031 for the localities of Black Mountain, Federal, and those parts of Ridgewood and Eerwah Vale that are within the Noosa Council boundary;
- Survey Area 3: 1 July to 30 September each year until the end of 2031 for the localities of Kin Kin, Pinbarren, Cooran and that part of Como that is within the Noosa Council boundary; and
- Survey Area 4: 1 October to 31 December each year until the end 2031 for the localities of Pomona, Lake MacDonald, Ringtail Ck, Cootharaba and Boreen Point.
- Note that
1) the Biosecurity Surveillance Program will be conducted in accordance with the entry and landholder protection provisions of the Biosecurity Act 2014, including notification and entry procedures under sections 259 and 270, and the right of landholders to seek an external review through QCAT under section 367; and
(2) program outcomes, including inspection activity, education and compliance actions, will be reported to Council through the Environment Strategy Annual Report, with a final report provided to Council at the conclusion of the Program in 2031
