PLANNING & ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 9 AUGUST 2016

5. CONCLUSION
The proposed supermarket design is not a traditional Federation or Art Deco building style but is
considered a contemporary commercial design consistent with the Planning Scheme’s intent for
the business centre and complements the established character of Cooroy. The development
presents well to Garnet Street with seating and paved areas in a landscaped setting screening the
car park. Building height preserves existing amenity of adjoining properties with the mezzanine not
apparent due to the building design and is considered to meet the relevant Overall and Specific
Outcomes of the Code. The development is recommended for approval subject to conditions.
