Other Planning Matters
Specific Outcome O52 requires pedestrian connectivity between business uses is enhanced in
Cooroy’s Business Centre zone. The development has provided pedestrian access, including
disabled access to Wimmers Lane via the ‘basement’ car park. This is not satisfactory for
pedestrians providing poor permeability through the site. An option is to provide stairs in the north
east corner of the at grade/street level car park. This would remove 1 car space but raises no
concern as the development is providing excess to that required by the planning scheme.
Noise
The applicant provided an acoustic report that addressed noise from the supermarket use. Noise
generated by customers raises no concerns being generally traffic and trolley noise between
business hours which are indicated to be between 6am and 9pm daily. All commercial noise to
sensitive receptors also meet the relevant noise standards when deliveries are limited to between
7am and 6pm Monday to Saturday and not at all on Sundays and public holidays.
