Plate 1 - Affected Trees (red line denotes approx. toe of dam batter)

Based on a 6m batter slope length on the downslope side of the dam as depicted in Plate 1, the
following trees are likely to be required to be removed due to either direct clearing needs or the
likelihood of becoming non- viable as a result of filling over their root zones and about their trunks:

2 x Eucalyptus grandis (approx. 16m high/400-450mm dbh);

1 x Corymbia intermedia (6m/100mm);

3 x Acacia melanoxylon (4m, 6m and 8m/100mm, 100mm and 300mm)
1 x Lophostemon confertus (8m/100mm)

Extension of the batter any further than 6m from the pegged alignment on site would impact the
surveyed edge of vegetation shown in Appendix 1 and Plate 1 and which is characterised by a
population of Commersonia bartramia to 10-14m height. It is therefore recommended the final
position of the dam be designed to ensure retention of the vegetation edge characterised by the
Commersonia’s.

The stand of impacted trees comprise least concern species which are common in the local area.
The trees all exhibit regrowth structural characteristics and were not observed to be host to any
hollows or nests at the time of inspection. Whilst the trees inherently influence the microclimate of
the nearby covenant vegetation it is considered their removal will not alter the viability of the covenant
area to be able to continue support the in-situ local flora and fauna, particularly given the extent of
mixed open forest and rainforest regrowth canopy trees that would be retained between the dam
