ORDINARY MEETING MINUTES                                                      2 JANUARY 2014


6     ORDINARY MEETING REPORTS

6.1   APPOINTMENT OF DEPUTY MAYOR
      Council Resolution

      Moved:           Cr Wellington
      Seconded:        Cr Wilkie

      That Council note the report by the Acting Chief Executive Officer to the Ordinary Meeting
      dated 2 January 2014 and:

      1.   Appoint Councillor Abbot as Deputy Mayor in accordance with Section 175 of the
           Local Government Act 2009, and

      2.   Destroy the Deputy Mayor election ballot papers.

                                                                                       Carried.


6.2   COUNCIL MEETINGS
      Council Resolution

      Moved:           Cr Jurisevic
      Seconded:        Cr Abbot

      That Council note the report by the Chief of Staff to the Ordinary Meeting dated 2 January
      2014 and:

      1.   Conduct the first Ordinary Meeting of Council at 1pm on Thursday 2 January 2014 at
           the Tewantin office; and

      2.   Hold subsequent Ordinary Meetings of Council as follows:
           a)   Monday 13 January 2014 commencing at 10 am
           b)   Monday 20 January 2014 commencing at 10 am
           c)   Thursday 6 February 2014 commencing at 6 pm
           d)   From 6 February onwards on a four weekly cycle at 6pm, except for a single 5
                weekly cycle following the meeting on 26 June.

6.3   COUNCIL COMMITTEES
      Council Resolution

      Moved:           Cr Abbot
      Seconded:        Cr Pardon

      That Council note the report by the Chief of Staff to the Ordinary Meeting of 2 January
      2014 regarding the creation of three Standing Committees and:

      1.   Approve the creation of the Infrastructure and Services Committee, the Planning and
           Organisation Committee, and the General Committee, with the roles and
           responsibilities identified in the Officer’s report;
