RECOMMENDATION
That Council note the report by the Community Development Officer (Culture) to the General
Committee Meeting dated 17 November 2014 and endorse the first round of Regional Arts
Development Fund (RADF) recommendations for the financial year 2014/15 as set out in
Attachment 1 to the report.
REPORT
Background
The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) supports cultural activity through the professional
development and employment of arts and cultural workers in regional Queensland. RADF is a
partnership between State Government, through Arts Queensland and Noosa Council.
The current RADF Committee is made up of one councillor, three external professional arts
industry representatives and Council officers in supporting roles.
The Noosa Council budget for 2014/15 provides funds for two RADF funding rounds each year in
September and March. This report covers the first RADF grant round for 2014/15 which closed
on 30 September 2014.
Arts Queensland has recently introduced changes to the way the RADF is managed.
Consultation with key stakeholders will commence after finalisation of this round of funding.
Applications
A total of 5 applications were received, requesting $31,954. Two applications totalling $14,400
are being recommended for Council’s consideration and endorsement (see Attachment 1). The
projects recommended for funding are excellent in quality and diversity, and will employ quality
artists and arts workers who will engage in valuable arts and cultural activities across the region.
Assessment
Applications were assessed and scored in accordance with the following set of RADF
assessment criteria:
