7.            RECOMMENDATIONS AND CONCLUSION
A noise assessment has been conducted for the proposed 83 room hotel to be located at Noosa Springs Resort,
Noosa Heads. The results and recommendations of the assessment are as follows:
◼    Noise limits for the project have been determined using the noise data captured for the previous phase
     of the project. All relevant noise data can be found in Section 4.
◼    Tennis activity is addressed in Section 6.2.1. The main outcomes are summarised as follows:
         The tennis courts have been relocated as shown in Figure 3.1. The noise model has been updated
          to calculate noise levels unto nearby receptors based on the new tennis court locations.
         While compliance with the daytime noise limit is achieved, exceedances are experienced at R2 and
          R3 during evening and nighttime. The following is proposed to achieve compliance throughout the
          day:
          ◼    Maintain operations as proposed (4 tennis courts) during daytime (7am to 6pm).
          ◼    Limits operations to two courts during the evening (6pm to 9pm).
          ◼    No tennis court use during nighttime (9pm to 7am).
◼    The pool activity assessment is detailed in Section 6.2.2. It is summarised as follows:
         Pool activity was previously modelled as 1 point source at 1 pool location, with a SWL of 88 dBA.
          This has been changed as 4 point sources with a SWL of 81 dBA, scattered across all pools (Refer
          to Figure 6.2).
         Compliance is predicted at all receiver locations, as shown in Table 6.4.
◼    The noise assessment of the carpark is detailed in Section 6.2.3. It is summarised as follows:
         Noise levels have been mostly kept similar to the previous assessment in Trinity Report
          207401.0104.R01V04, dated 19 September 2022, with some adjustments to reflect the increased
          activity on-site due to the carpark expansion.
         Compliance is predicted at all receiver locations, as shown in Table 6.5.
◼    The majority of deliveries and waste collection activities are expected to be occurring at the existing
     clubhouse and hence have no significant noise impact. Deliveries and waste collection activities are
     suggested to be limited to daytime hours 7am to 6pm as outlined in Section 6.2.4.
◼    Delivery / waste collection activity’s impact on the site is summarised as follows:
         Delivery of linen trucked to the proposed development is predicted to have no impact on the noise
          levels at R1, R2 and R3.
         Collection of residual grease via a vacuum truck visiting the site once every 2 months has the
          potential for adverse acoustic impacts on R1, with a predicted noise level of 65 dBA LAeq,15min. Given
          the infrequent nature of vacuum pump operations (15-30 minutes per month) a relaxed noise limit
          may be applied. Refer to Section 6.2.4.1 for discussion.
    ◼ Road traffic noise for the site is L10,18hr of 39 dBA (based on noise monitoring data from Trinity Report
       207401.0104.R01V04, dated 19 September 2022). No acoustic façade requirements are needed to be
       met under MP4.4 criteria.
    ◼ Mechanical plant is to be designed, selected and located to achieve the noise limits as outlined in
       Table 6.1.
◼    The activities associated with proposed clubhouse layout changes generate low levels of noise relative to
     other noise sources on site. Additionally, the clubhouse is fully enclosed, which will heavily mitigate noise
     levels generated from the clubhouse. As such, proposed clubhouse changes are expected to be compliant
     with the noise limits in Table 6.1.
Compliance with the above recommendations is predicted to result in compliance with relevant noise criteria.
