1.           INTRODUCTION
Trinity Consultants Australia (previously known as ASK) was commissioned by GH Properties to provide
acoustic consultancy services for the proposed 106 room hotel to be located at Noosa Springs Resort, Noosa
Heads.
An acoustic report was previously prepared to accompany a Development Application for consideration by
Noosa Council for a development permit for a material change of use and preliminary approval to carry out
building work for extensions to tourist accommodation purposes. The application was made over land at
Resort Drive, Noosa Springs QLD 4567, and described as Lot4 SP178340.
In September 2022, Trinity was made aware of two changes that required consideration in the assessment:
◼    A vacuum pump truck will extract grease from the underground grease trap at approximately number 23
     shown in Figure 3.1. We are informed pumping out the grease trap will take 15 to 30 minutes and is
     likely to occur once every two months.
◼    Linen Deliveries may also occur on 3 occasions each week via the service road at approximately number
     “23” shown in Figure 3.1.
An updated acoustic report 207401.0104.R01V04, dated 19 September 2022, was provided by Trinity to
address the above listed operational activities. The project has undergone several more changes (design
modifications) since then, and this acoustic report has been prepared to these changes. The changes to the
design are documented below:
◼    Changes to Tennis Court location.
◼    Changes to carpark activity.
◼    Loading dock and delivery / collection vehicle movement
         Further review of potential approaches to address grease trap truck pump noise has been undertaken
          in Section 6.2.4.1. Considerations for relaxed noise limits to account for the infrequency of the
          pump’s usage have been also provided.
To incorporate the above changes, another updated acoustic report 207401.0104.R01V05, dated 1 November
2024, was provided by Trinity. This report version 6 was prepared to update project drawings only. It is noted
that changes in projects drawings are minor (e.g. removing a floor level on some buildings), and do not have
an impact on noise predictions.
The purpose of this report is as follows:
◼    Outline the relevant project noise criteria.
◼    Update noise impact assessment based on the changes made to the design.
◼    Describe noise mitigation requirements, if any.
To aid in the understanding of the terms in this report a glossary is included in Appendix A.
