4.     Tourism Noosa

For many years Tourism Noosa’s Constitution has provided for a Councillor representative on its
Board of Directors. Tourism Noosa have recently written to Council seeking the nomination of
Councillor to attend their meetings to assist in continuing a positive relationship and
communication link between Noosa Council and Tourism Noosa. It is proposed that the
Councillor attend meetings as an observer.

Cr Wilkie has expressed his interest in this role and with the support of the Mayor and CEO, has
attended one Board meeting. It is recommended that Cr Wilkie be formally appointed as Noosa
Council’s representative.


5.     Roads and Transport Alliance

The Roads and Transport Alliance has been operating since 2002 and is a cooperative
governance arrangement between the Department of Transport and Main Roads, the Local
Government Association of Queensland and local governments to jointly invest in and manage
the State’s transport infrastructure network at a regional level.

On 24 February 2014, Council received an invitation from the Chair of the Roads and Transport
Alliance Board for Noosa Council to join the Alliance via the Northern SEQ Regional Roads and
Transport Group. An Executive Meeting of the Board was scheduled for 27 February and
Council was requested to have a Councillor representative in attendance at that meeting. Given
the timing issues associated with obtaining a formal Council resolution on the matter, the Mayor
nominated Cr Abbot to attend given his role as Chair of Council’s Infrastructure & Services
Committee.

It is recommended that Cr Abbot be formally appointed as Noosa Council’s representative to the
Alliance.

For information purposes, since 1 January 2014, Council has made the following Councillor
appointments:

1.     Noosa Biosphere Limited Board of Directors – Cr Pardon and Cr Wellington (Ordinary
       Meeting, 20 January 2014).

2.     Case Management Working Group – Cr Playford and Cr Wilkie (Ordinary Meeting, 6 March
       2014)

3.     Audit Committee – Cr Playford and Cr Wellington (Ordinary Meeting, 6 March 2014).
