Dear Mark,

1. Introduction
ASK Consulting Engineers Pty Ltd (ASK) was commissioned by Thomco (No 2087) Pty Ltd to provide acoustic
consultancy services for the proposed multi-unit and housing development to be constructed at 215 David
Low Way, Peregian Beach.
This acoustic report has previously prepared a noise impact assessment report (ref: 8816R01V01 dated:
14/12/2016) which was submitted as part of Development Application for consideration by Noosa Shire
Council. The application is made over land at 215 David Low Way, Peregian Beach, and described as Lot 77
on SP231615.
The proposed development includes the following uses:
      • Multi-storey short-stay accommodation and permanent residential unit building.
      • 26 two-storey house lots.
Council has since issued an Information Request (ref: MCU16/0153 dated: 10/02/2017) stating the
following in relation to noise:
Issue – Noise monitoring of IGA loading dock
The acoustic report makes some assumptions regarding the number, timing and noise levels of trucks
that access the IGA loading dock but does not verify the assumptions by attended observations or by
noise monitoring on the subject site at representative façade locations near the loading dock. The
acoustic report assumes that there will only be a limited number of delivery vehicles that will access
the loading dock or shopping village and only after 7am.
         Information Required
         13. Unattended noise monitoring shall be conducted at a location on the development site that has a
clear view of the loading dock and car park at a height representative of the façade of the first floor
motel units for a minimum period of one week. The noise logger is to have one-third octave spectral
