Council. The implementation of the plan is to be certified by a suitably qualified and independent
acoustic consultant.
The detailed report is to confirm that the hotel building envelope, including windows, will achieve
compliance with the unreasonable noise criteria when windows are closed, given the internal source
levels stated in the License. The detailed report is to include consideration of all noise sources
associated with the hotel operations on the site.
Issue - Noise Monitoring of Peregian Hotel
The acoustic report recommends upgrades to the building envelope constructions of the linea houses.
The report does not state whether the recommendation includes both levels of the houses or only the
upper level, or only some of the upper level constructions, or upper level constructions for all of the
houses.
Information Required
18. Following preparation of the detailed report for the hotel noise emissions, the building envelope
sound transmission loss specifications for the linea houses is to be confirmed. The acoustic
specification of the building envelope constructions is to include sketches showing the construction
details of glazing, walls and roof-ceilings for each bedroom and living areas affected by the hotel
noise emissions. The confirmation report is to indicate that the internal noise levels of all bedrooms
and living areas will achieve satisfactory internal noise levels due to all noise sources associated with
the operations of the hotel on the site.
2. Response to Item 13 – IGA Loading Dock Noise Emissions
In response to the raised item, unattended noise logging has been undertaken adjacent the loading dock.
The monitoring has been undertaken between Tuesday 7/03/2017 and Tuesday 14/03/2017, using an ARL
NGARA environmental noise logger. The monitoring was undertaken at a height of 3.4m above the
hardstand height for the loading dock area. The monitoring location is presented in Figure 2.1 and Figure
2.2. The typical distance to the loading area is 8m, however the microphone is still located in close
proximity to the nearest carpark. Due to the large height differential of the existing terrain, the potential
first floor receptor height and the loading area, the noise monitoring was undertaken at this location as it
had clear line of sight to the loading area.
