Clearing of mapped remnant vegetation and core koala habitat will be progressed as exempt
clearing works. In this regard, referral to SARA is not required for clearing native vegetation and
         core koala habitat.

The proposed clearing footprint intersects 6,200m2 of area mapped under Council’s Biodiversity,
waterways and wetlands overlay, made up of the building footprints and asset protection zones
(4,538m2) and the various stockpile area in the south, proposed for clearing (1,662m2).
Approximately 1,743m2 of the area affected by the mapped Biodiversity, waterways and wetlands
overlay is within the firebreak of the existing small shed and is permitted to be cleared under
Schedule 6, Section 20A of the Planning Regulation 2020. The balance of the mapped overlay
intersecting the clearing impact area is assessable under the Noosa Plan 2020. In this regard, the
project requires assessment against the Biodiversity, waterways and wetlands overlay in the
Noosa Plan 2020 for impacts to 4,457m2 of mapped MSES environmental values and area of
biodiversity significance, with the vast majority of this area associated with the northern shed
(1,517m2) and the 1,401m2 associated with the stockpiles of topsoil to be used for rehabilitation
of the remaining quarry scar that remain outside of the existing permitted clearing extents.

No vegetation clearing is required to be undertaken within the mapped riparian buffer area on
the Biodiversity, waterways and wetlands overlay in the Noosa Plan 2020 and where appropriate
erosion and sediment control measures are implemented during construction works, impacts to
the waterways are anticipated to be extremely limited.
