6.3.5. Viewpoint 5: View southwest from the Noosa Trail

                                                                              Crane in location of monopole
                                                                              (at height of 25 metres)

Table 6-6 Assessment of Viewpoint 5: View southwest from the Noosa Trail
Description of the view Elevated view from a short section of the Noosa Trail approximately 1.4km from the site. View
south to the valley floor and Mt Cooran.
Description of the The monopole would be located at a distance of 1.2km. The lower section of the monopole
Proposal would be screened by surrounding vegetation and the upper section viewed above the
vegetation but against a backdrop of vegetation on the taller ridge beyond. The scale of this
element would be small and indistinguishable at this distance.

Construction activity would be screened by the existing vegetation surrounding the site, any tall
machinery visible rising above the treeline would be seen against a backdrop of vegetation and
                           absorbed into the view.

Visual Sensitivity This view has a local visual sensitivity as, while it is on the Noosa Trail Network (Trail 3: Kin Kin
to Cooran via Western Branch Road), this is an incidental view from an unformed section of the
                           pathway.

Visual Modification Overall, the monopole would comprise a small element on a lower ridgeline at a distance of over
a kilometre. It would be seen against the backdrop of vegetation and absorbed into the view.
The monopole would be indistinguishable in this view.

Overall, there would be a no perceived change in the amenity of the view.

Level of Impact Negligible visual impact
