Table 6-9 Assessment of Viewpoint 8: View north from King Road
Description of From this section of Kings Road, the landform descends north towards the Six Mile Creek valley. The
the view North Coast rail corridor and Chris Kenny Park can be seen in the foreground of this view. The middle
ground includes an undulating rural landscape consisting of acreage lifestyle properties set within a
rural bushland setting. The densely vegetated ridges and hillsides either side of Tablelands Road are
visible in the background of view, enclosing views to the proposal site. The existing Telstra 30-metre-
high monopole on Tablelands Road is not discernable from this location, due to the distance and
intervening elements.
Description of The monopole would be located on the rear side of the intervening vegetated ridge, in the background
the Proposal of view, approximately 2 kilometres from this location. The upper portion of the tower would rise
above the vegetation on the site and be viewed against the more elevated vegetated ridgelines of the
national park. Activity during construction would be screened by vegetation. Any tall machinery which
rises above the treeline during installation of the monopole would be seen against the backdrop of
vegetation.
Visual Sensitivity This view has a local visual sensitivity as it is from the local centre of Cooran.
Visual The monopole would be largely screened by vegetation and would be imperceptible in the background
Modification of this view. This view has a high visual absorption capacity with several other built elements amongst
the heavily vegetated, undulating landform.
There would be a no perceived change in the amenity of the view.
Level of Impact Negligible visual impact
