6.3.9. Viewpoint 9: View north from Queen Street (adjacent to number 12)

                                                                                          Crane in location of monopole
                                                                                          (at height of 25 metres)

Table 6-10 Assessment of Viewpoint 9: View north from Queen Street (near number 12)
Description of The fore and middle ground of this view includes residential properties on the eastern edge of Cooran,
the view consisting detached dwellings, large gardens and lawn areas within a rural bushland setting. The
densely vegetated ridges and hillsides of the Cooran tablelands are seen in the background of view,
enclosing views to the proposal site. The existing Telstra 30-metre-high monopole on Tablelands Road
is not distinguishable in views from this location, due to distance and intervening elements.

Description of The monopole would be located on the rear side of the intervening vegetated ridge, in the background
the Proposal of view, approximately 2 kilometres from this location on Queen Street. The upper portion of the
monopole would be seen above the vegetation on the site; viewed against a vegetated backdrop. The
monopole would be imperceptible at this distance.

During construction, all ground level works would be screened by the surrounding vegetation,
furthermore the removal of trees would not be perceived at this distance. Some tall machinery may be
visible above the treeline during installation of the monopole, however, this would be a very small
temporary element and imperceptible in the background of this view.

Visual Sensitivity This view has a neighbourhood visual sensitivity as it is on a local road and represents views from
dwellings on the eastern outskirts of Cooran, to the south of the site.

Visual The monopole would be largely screened by landform and vegetation and would comprise a small
Modification element in the background of this view. This view includes several other built elements which are
readily absorbed. The monopole would not be discernable and there would be no perceived change in
                      the amenity of this view.

Level of Impact Negligible visual impact
