5.3 Individual site analyses
Assessments of existing and potential sites were undertaken to explore opportunities to accommodate facilities for non-
powered water sports in Noosaville. Some sites were examined and are likely to be discounted from additional analysis due to
identified key constraints. However, all site assessments have been included in the following summary.
A range of criteria have been used to consider each potential site, including:
†† location (proximity to waterway and area available for development)
†† accessibility, connectivity and visibility
†† potential impacts on adjoining properties
†† existing activities and facilities.
It is important to note that these criteria do not have equal weighting nor are the weightings consistent across each
assessment. For example, there may be some existing activities at sites that preclude any further consideration for additional
development whilst other sites may have existing activities where additional development would achieve consolidation of
activities.
A simple ‘traffic light’ coloured system has been used to assess whether each criteria is a positive (green), neutral (orange) or
negative (red) consideration for each potential site. The sites considered are indicated in the images following.

                                                                                                          C

                                                                                  B
