8 Appendix A
Draft Precinct Plan
Appendix A contains the proposed draft Precinct Plan
approved by Council Officers for presentation and feedback
from sporting clubs directly impacted. The draft Precinct Plan
is provided on the following page as a reference to provide
additional context to the planning process undertaken.
The draft Precinct Plan was presented to sporting clubs in
separate meetings involving the individual sporting clubs,
Council and the consultant.
The draft Precinct Plan was met with approval from rowing,
coastal rowing and outrigger canoeing, as it improved on the
current storage and water-access arrangements for these
activities. The sailing club expressed concerns with the
proposed Plan, particularly in relation to the loss of land-
based boat storage in the public car park located at the rear
of the clubhouse building.
After presentation of this draft Precinct Plan to the sporting
clubs, Council undertook additional internal deliberations
and developed an alternative Precinct Plan. A summary is
provided in the Executive Summary and throughout the body
of the report.
