Entertainment Noise Assessment

3 Assessment Methodology
Noise measurements were conducted in accordance with Australian Standard AS1055:2018
Acoustics – Description and measurement of environmental noise and the Department of
Environment and Science Noise Management Manual Version 4.01 (NMM 2020).

For each of the identified RAPs, noise measurement locations were selected within the vicinity of
the venue:

    •    Representative affected premises test locations
    •    Reference point test locations (RPLs)
    •    Close external monitoring locations (CEMLs)

 3.1 Representative affected premises
 Each measurement location at the RAPs are described in detail in               G51 Check Item 21 ☐

 Appendix D – Detailed Measurement Locations. Where measurements
 were not able to be taken from the RAP property, this is discussed
 further below.

 Access to the first floor balcony of 7 Webb Road (RAP.2) was requested         G51 Check Item 22 ☐

 by Live It Acoustics’ personnel during onsite assessments through
 consultation with venue management, however access was not
 provided. Measurements for this premises were instead taken as close
 as possible to the Northern boundary (within the public park) with the
 microphone tripod held above head height to increase the height of the
 measurement above fence height of the RAP. All other locations (where
 adequate signal could be obtained at the RAP) were taken as close as
 possible to the property boundary or just inside the property where
 access from the street was present. For example, for RAP.5 it was
 possible to conduct a measurement within the property on the set of
 stairs external to a private balcony, due to the stairs not being gated off
 from the public footpath.

3.2 Reference points
 The RPLs are presented below in Figure 7.
