As indicated in Figure 8.2 existing mature vegetation aligns Lake Flat Road and provides
a buffer from Lake Cootharaba which is located approxi_mately 200 m east of the
proposed facility. This separation distance in conjunction with the mature vegetation
corridor where the tallest trees are approximately 25 m in height will, screen the majority
of the facility from recreational users on Lake Cootharaba who will only see the
hea’dframe of the facility above the existing tree canopy. Additionally when viewing the
facility from Lake Flat Road, the facility will only become intermittently visible at a few
minor clearings in the vegetation along the road. These views are not anticipated to be
visually obtrusive as Lake Flat Road is travelled by motor vehicles only at a constant
speed and does not provide any opportunities for vehicles to become stationary.

Figure 8.3 and 8.4 below illustrates the current appearance of the site when viewed from
Lake Flat Road and the existence of trees which align the road network.
