Log in to see the plans as drawn • If clinical or related waste is transported in loads of 250 kg or more, on a commercial basis
(for fee or reward), an environmental authority is required under the Environmental Protection
Act 1994. Even if a vehicle does not require licensing to undertake the activity, certain
requirements should be met to provide safe transportation of clinical or related waste.
The design waste collection vehicle for the medical waste is expected to be a Van. The typical
dimensions and steering characteristics of a van are similar to that of an ambulance or private
vehicle.
Servicing of clinical and related waste shall be undertaken from the Aged Care Facility’s loading
dock. Waste collection should be undertaken during periods where waste exposure to the public will
be minimised (early morning / evening or outside operating hours).
