Traffic & Transport Assessment -
Estimated Future Road Network Traffic Demands
6. Estimated Future Road Network Traffic Demands
6.1 Proposed Development Traffic Generation
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) specifies in their Road Planning and Design
Manual (with reference to the NSW Roads and Traffic Authority’s Guide to Traffic Generating
Developments) appropriate traffic generation rates for commercial developments of this nature.
The estimated traffic generation for the proposed development based on these rates are presented
in Table 6.1.

Total 1013 134 trips (in+out)
Given the majority of land uses generate high-turnover traffic flows with durations of stay no longer
than 1 hour, it is envisaged that there will be a ratio of 50% inbound traffic and 50% outbound
traffic.
6.2 Estimated Development Traffic Distribution
The estimated traffic distributions for the proposed development are presented in Figure 6.1.
