Original PDF page 128, section 1. The text section number identifies this passage in the reader.
. The number of vehicles is 3 semi-trucks per day and 1 light vehicle trip.
. As stated in Table 2 the orchard generates 76 vehicles per day during the
peak picking season.
. The retained avocado trees are not intended for commercial use and will
be maintained on a hobby basis.
8. Information requested
Include impacts ofheavy vehicles on Top Forestry Road.
Response
The impacts of the proposed development have been assessed and mitigation
measures are provided in Section 6 and 7 of the Traffic Report dated October
2012. Additionally a Hazard Reduction Action List (attached)has been provided
recommending safety improvements for the road network.
In regard to the existing formation, detailed survey has not been obtained,
however site investigations indicate that the road width on Top Forestry Road
ranges from 5.5m to 7.5m. Is preferred to provide a 7.0m wide minimum road
pavement width in constrained locations such as curves and crests to allow a car
to pass a moving truck. As per Table 2.6F of "Queensland Streets" Guidelines a
road width of 7.0m is required for a car to pass a moving truck at 50krnlh.
9. Information requested
Include the site access with Top Forestry Road.
Response
The driveway and access has been designed by Callaghan and Toth and shown in
Drawing 1209-09. Vegetation clearing has been recommended and sight visibility
complies with with Figure 3.2 of AS2890.1 for 50km/h. It is recommended that
consideration to drainage and retaining south of the access be provided at detailed
design stage (operational works).
In regard to the existing bus stop there is adequate formation width to cater for the
bus stop and meet the requirements for rural school bus stops. The property
access is clear of the bus stopping area and there is adequate length to maintain
the existing 15m taper exiting the bus stop.
I trust that the above information satisfies the Council’s Information request however;
should further information be required, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Yours faithfully
