Vegetated areas of the site contain fauna habitat characteristics and connectivity to extrinsic
areas of the proposed development. Habitat features for assessing the presence of breeding
places and habitation features for native fauna included:
x Large trees and vegetation including subsequent flowers and pollen sources that
influence a wide-ranging species can extend over a considerable distance from their
location
x Hollow-bearing trees that may be used by birds, reptiles or arboreal mammals
x Presence of bowers and nests or structures generally used by birds or mammals
x Permanent water, non-perennial flows or ephemeral ponding, and seasonally inundated
areas used by aquatic species or amphibians.
Based on the level of fragmented vegetation and historical disturbances to KDELWDWWKHVLWH¶V
diversity is likely to have a reduced assemblage of fauna species. Essential habitat
(Regulated Vegetation A and B) extrinsic to the site, watercourses and associated riparian
exhibits connectivity for fauna as a movement corridor and is presented Figure 3. Unnamed
(stream order 1) riparian in the southern boundary section of the site exhibits connectivity for
fauna including invertebrates, amphibians and reptiles as a movement corridor and is
defined as an ecologically important area. It is noted that the Tusked frog (Adelotus brevis)
that is NCA listed as vulnerable has been recorded 18/01/2021 (WildNet sighting id 250,055)
in this downstream corridor approximately 150m north-east from the site at 11 Rectory St,
Pomona.
