PUBLIC OPINION QUESTIONS – KEY FINDINGS


This section of the report presents the key findings of the two public opinion questions.
They were asked as ‘open ended questions’ in the survey. However, in order to give a
snapshot summary, they are also graphically presented.

In this survey, all questions were included in the briefing mail-out sent to each respondent
prior to the main telephone interview. Consequently, respondents had time to think about
the question, and give a ‘considered’ opinion. They were requested to do just this – even
discuss the question with friends and relations – in the briefing letter.



    1. Do you or your family have a disaster management plan for a flood or a
       fire?


        Almost a third (60%), as shown graphically below, of respondents have
         disaster management plan for a flood or fire.




There were no significant variances.
