Under request from the Council’s Traffic Engineering Consultant, a swept path for an
entering HRV, as enclosed, has been completed to ensure a HRV can access the site if
the driver fails to acknowledge proposed signs and operational instructions.

It should be noted that the design team looked to increase the verge around the fire
hydrant booster, as requested, but any significant widening would encroach into the
existing easement that is required to be free of obstructions.

Additionally the design team looked to reduce the flair at the egress, as requested by the
Council’s Traffic Engineering Consultant. The geometry of the existing access easement
as it moves to the east results in a construing approach at the cross over. To reduce the
flair, the truck would effectively need to “straight line” the easement and traveling into on-
coming traffic.

The Ambulance Bay width has been reduced as requested to increase manoeuvring
area for the extremely rare occasion (but not expected) a HRV enters the site from
Hofmann Drive.

Swept path of an exiting HRV has been reassessed without the use of “turn wheels from
stop”, as requested.

Item 3 & 8:
The adjoining property owner has agreed to an easement over the front of the building
as not to construct or in any way block the view of the current easement road way.
Documentation of such agreement to be provided by others. We recommend that this
easement, highlighted via red in Figure -1, be clear of all fixed permanent obstructions.

The location of the access allows for at least 29m of sight distance that meets desirable
sight distance, as required by AS2890.1, at access driveway exits for 20km/hr speed
environments.
