PLANNING & ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 11 APRIL 2017
The project is still in its early stages. Procurement of a consultancy to undertake the core body of
work for the project – covering coastal hazards assessment, vulnerability and adaptation options
– is currently in the proposal review stage. This work is planned to commence by mid-April.
Proposed Project Control Group
The development of the Climate Change Adaptation Plan (CCAP) will be guided by a Project
Control Group (PCG). The purpose of the PCG will be to provide high level guidance and direction
to the project team on both the processes (including scope) involved in conducting the background
assessment report, assessments, and the content of the final adaptation plan. This will include
ensuring relevant public and private interests are being considered during the project and that
inputs meet nominated deadlines (Attachment 2 – draft Project Control Group Charter).
Finance & Risk
The development of this plan will be coordinated ‘in house’ by the Program Coordinator Climate
Change Adaptation with support from internal stakeholders and external subject matter experts.
Funding has been secured for the coastal hazards adaptation component under the QCoast2100
initiative, which is being administered by LGAQ on behalf of Department EHP.
