An annual licence is to be obtained from Council's Environmental Health Section with respect to the
storage of flammable or combustible liquids in excess of the minimum amounts permitted under the
Dangerous Goods Safety Management Act 2001. Application for such a licence is to be made prior to
the issue of a development permit for building works.

In regard to any food premise an annual licence and registration of the premises is required under the
Food Hygiene Regulations of 1989 from Council’s Environmental Health Section where unpackaged
food is sold, prepared, packed, stored, handled, served or supplied for sale.

In regard to any hairdresser or beautician establishment an annual licence is required under the
Health Regulations 1996 from Council’s Environmental Health Section where hairdressing or skin
penetration is to be performed on the premises. .

The applicant is to submit two (2) sets of professionally drawn scale plans in compliance with
Council's Code controlling food establishments for approval by Council’s Environmental Health
Section, for any food premises proposed to be included in the development. Approval is to be
obtained prior to fitting out the building.

For café or restaurant the applicant must provide toilets for customers and staff in accordance with the
Building Code of Australia.

Separate plans are to be submitted detailing the location and outlet for any mechanical exhaust
system. The installation of any mechanical exhaust system is to comply with AS 1.668.2 and AS
1668.1.

The applicant is to submit two .(2) sets of professionally drawn scale plans in compliance with
Council's Code: controlling hairdressing premises for approval by Council’s Environmental Health
Section, for any hairdressing or skin penetration premises proposed to be included in the
development. Approval is to be obtained prior to fitting out the building.

The Environmental Protection Regulation 1998 and Local Law No.12 prevents a builder or building
contractor carrying out building work on a building site in a way that makes or causes audible noise to
be made from the building work on:-

(a) Monday to Saturday, before 7:00am or after 6:30pm
(b) Sunday or public holiday, at any time.

A maximum penalty of $1,500 applies to an offence under this legislation.

In accordance with the Environmental Protection (Water) Policy 1997, all sand, silt, mud, paint,
cement, concrete, builders waste or rubbish shall not be permitted to enter or be placed where it could
reasonably be expected to move into a roadside gutter, stormwater drain or a water course. On the
spot fines apply for such offences. .

For any medical center established on the site a clinicat waste service is required for the activities,
The operator is required to arrange with a licensed clinical waste contractor for the commencement of
such service.

Trade Waste,
The bin washing area is to be roofed and the floor is to fall to a bucket trap with the waste pre-treated

by a grease arrestor prior to discharge to the sewer. Rainwater is to be excluded from the bin washing
area. Bin-washing is to take place only at the bin washing area.

Full truck access is to be provided to each grease arrestor and/or pre-treatment device for cleaning
and servicing. Where access is restricted, a pump out line is required.

Liquid waste generated by industry, small business and commercial enterprises is referred to as Trade
Waste.

Council approval must be gained prior to the discharge of Trade Waste to Council's sewerage system.
Approval may be granted through the issuing of a Trade Waste Permit.
