1.3          Site Description
The boatshed is located on an 831 sqm land parcel fronting the Noosa River legally described as Lot 157 on
SP143417. The subject land is located in an open space recreation area at the end of Russell Street (see
Figure 1-2), and is surrounded by the following land uses:
> The Noosa River Holiday Park occupies a prime riverbank location surrounding the subject land along the
  eastern and southern boundaries and occupies most of the eastern side of Russell Street, offering a mix
  of camping and cabin rentals, as well as a foreshore open space area (‘Russell Park’) with barbeque
  facilities and a playground (Plate 1);
> At the stub-end of Russell Street is a small open space area (‘Russell Street Park’) which is located to the
  west of the subject land. Although a continuation of the road reserve, it is a small grassed area and
  features a small barbeque and seating, and overlooks the River (Plate 2);
> Munna Beach and boat ramp is part of the foreshore along the River corridor to the east of the subject
  land (Plate 3); and
> 2-3 storey unit development and holiday rentals dominate the western side of Russell Street, generally
  taking advantage of the river views and local amenity.
