RECOMMENDATION
That Council note the report by the Asset Planning Manager and Infrastructure Planning, Design
and Delivery Manager to the General Committee Meeting dated 13 November 2017 and approve
changes to Council’s organisational structure as detailed in the report.
REPORT
The purpose of this report is to seek Council’s approval of the following changes to the
organisation structure:
Asset Management Branch
One additional permanent fulltime equivalent (FTE) Technical Officer, Level 5
The conversion of two temporary Technical Officer, Level 5 positions to permanent, and
The redesign of the Technical Support Officer’s position from a Level 2 to a banded Level
3 to 4.
Infrastructure Planning, Design & Delivery Branch
Two additional FTE contract positions for a duration of three years each – one Designer
Capital Works and one Project Officer
One temporary Designer Capital Works and one temporary Project Officer position to be
made permanent
Redesign the Technical Officer Coastal & Foreshores, Level 5 to Project Coordinator
Flooding, Coastal & Foreshores, Level 6
1. Asset Management
With the ongoing development of Council’s 5 year Capital Works Program to a 10 year Capital
Works Program and the continued implementation of the Asset Management Roadmap, along
with the team’s business as usual activities, a need has been identified to increase the current
resources delivering these functions for Council. The current resourcing of the Asset
Management Branch is insufficient to deliver these functions within the timeframes and to a
desired level of service set out in the endorsed Asset Management Roadmap.
