2.1.2     SURROUNDING LOCALITY

The subject site is approximately 3km east of Noosa Heads (Hastings St) and 8km north of the Peregian
Beach (refer to Figure 4). As mentioned above, the Duke St precinct is limited to providing local
service needs and as such, is still dependent on the higher order activity centres in Noosa Civic and
Noosa Junction for primary goods and services.

More broadly the Sunshine Beach area is bounded by Noosa National Park to the north and west, the
ocean to the east, and the adjoining suburbs of Sunrise and Castaways Beaches to the south (refer to
Figure 4 above).
