Linke and Linke Surveys SLR Ref No: 620.31071-R01-v3.0-FEMP.docx Flood Emergency Management Plan February 2024 111 Lake Weyba Drive, Noosaville 3 NATURE OF FLOOD THREAT TO SITE 3.1 Sources of Flooding The site is affected by: • creek / waterway flooding resulting from heavy rainfalls in the Noosa River catchment; • local flooding from the Weyba Creek catchment; and • storm tide flooding from the ocean, primarily as a result of either cyclonic or extreme low pressure weather systems in near-coast areas. Council’s Noosa River flood model (2017) has been used to quantify potential inundation of the site and surrounds, for a range of flood events up to the PMF. The site has been designed so that all habitable floor levels are above the PMF. 3.1.1 Noosa River/Weyba Creek flooding The site is located adjacent to Weyba Creek, which discharges to the Noosa River. The potential for flooding of the site due to intense rain within the Weyba Creek or Noosa River catchments was therefore investigated. Figure 4 shows Noosa Council’s flood hazard mapping for the area. Page 7 32
