During construction, it is necessary to manage stormwater run-off to avoid potential
contamination of downstream waterways from sediments and other pollutants from the site.
Best practice erosion and sediment controls shall be installed to minimise the discharge of
potential contaminants from the site, in accordance with the objectives of Appendix 2 of the
SPP (DERM, July 2017) shown below in Figure 3.1.
Figure 3.1 SPP 2017 Construction Phase Stormwater Management Design Objectives
Appendix A Proposed Development Planscontains the site-specific erosion and sediment
control (ESC) Plan prepared for the development. These include:
1. Sediment fencing is to be installed along the downstream boundaries of the site.
2. A shakedown area is to be installed at the construction site entry/exit points.
3. The catch drain and stormwater drainage line are to be implemented as soon as
practicable to divert upstream run-off from entering the construction site.
4. Sediment inlet filters are to be provided to pits during construction works.
5. A kerb inlet sediment trap is to be in place at the downstream kerb inlet in
Bottlebrush Avenue during construction works.
