of LED lighting and the installation of a 60 KW solar PV system in November 2018.
In the first month of the solar installation:
electricity consumption from the grid has been reduced by 35%;
emissions from electricity have reduced by 35%; and
electricity costs reduced by 22%.
Noosa Aquatic Centre
Energy efficiency improvements include LED lighting retrofit and the installation of a 26 KW solar
system in November 2018.
In the first two months of the solar installation:
electricity consumption from the grid has been reduced by 10%;
emissions from electricity have reduced by 10%; and
electricity costs reduced by 1%.
Council small sites
Council has numerous small sites that use electricity from the grid. These “small sites” consume
less than 100,000Kw per annum. There has been a 1 % increase in emissions from electricity
consumption at these sites in the 2017/18 carbon footprint. Electricity consumption is “estimated”
at a number of these sites as access to the meters is limited. Council is working with its energy
retailer to improve access to meters and hence improve meter reading accuracy.
A 36 KW solar system was installed at the Noosa Day Respite Centre in November 2018 and has
reduced electricity consumption and emissions from the grid by 64%.
