SERVICES & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 11 JUNE 2019

The October 2018 report to Council approved the temporary replacement of sixteen parallel
car parks however it was decided to monitor the impact of eight before increasing to the full
              sixteen.

The temporary reassignment of eight parallel car parks had the desired effect of improving the
flow of traffic along Hastings Street and in turn improving vehicle access to the 400 car parking
              spaces in Noosa Woods.
Four bays were replaced with increased footpath space through the use of existing bollards
and four bays were replaced with a mix of temporary scooter and bicycle parking. Fake green
grass was used under the temporary bicycle parking to help it stand out and to differentiate
              from the scooter bays.
The exact use of the eight car parking bays is not the main feature but rather the impact of
parallel parking on the flow of traffic.
              Data obtained:

The uptake in the use of the temporary scooter and bicycle parking was varied (refer images
below). Noting that use of the scooter and bicycle parking was weather dependent.
