PLANNING & ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 11 JUNE 2019

Previous Council Consideration
Ordinary Meeting Minutes, 18 April 2019, Item 3, Page 17
That Council note the report by the Principal Environment Officer to the Planning & Environment
Committee Meeting dated 9 April 2019 and:
A. Authorise the Chief Executive Officer to negotiate the purchase of Lot 3 RP186809 up to
       the valuation obtained by Council;
B. Remove the confidentiality in relation to this report upon the signing of a contract to
       purchase Lot 3 RP186809; and
C. Note that, subject to recent advice, the opportunity for a future subdivision of the land for
the purpose of a Revolving Fund appears not to be in accord with the South East
       Queensland Regional Plan.
Council can now remove the confidentiality in relation to this report as the contract has been
signed for purchase.
Ordinary Meeting Minutes, 23 October 2014, Item 4, Page 6
That Council note the report by the Environment Officer to the Planning and Organisation
Committee Meeting dated 14 October 2014 regarding the land previously purchased with the
Environmental Levy currently in state ownership and without conservation protection tenure and
A. Request the Chief Executive Officer to write to the Director-General of the Department of
Environment and Heritage Protection seeking that Lot 12 SP148801, Lot 22 RP25570, Lot
7 MCH842016, Lot 2 RP800334 be gazetted as National Park; and
B. Note that officers are progressing with Department of National Park, Recreation, Sports
and Racing the dedication of Lot 121 RP100974, Lot 2 RP165434, Lot 4 RP136234 and
Lot 2 RP111976 as Regional Park with Council as trustee.

Finance
Any revolving fund proposal would require the development of a business case in conjunction
with Corporate Services and a further report would be presented to Council.
Risks & Opportunities
Within the Environment Levy land register there are currently two land parcels that could be
considered for a revolving fund proposition (25SP104706 and 3RP186809). However the amount
of capital gained (after selling and site preparation costs) is not clear at this stage and would be
identified through the development of a business case.
