LGIP Workshop held on 19 January 2017

Ordinary Meeting, 16 February 2017, Item 6, Page 4
That Council note the report by the Infrastructure Assessment Coordinator to the Planning &
Environment Committee Meeting dated 7 February 2017 and approve the Desired Standards of
Service (DSS) for the Transport network provided in Attachment 1 for proceeding with the new
Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP) under The Noosa Plan 2006.

Finance & Risk
Council needs to have amended its current Priority Infrastructure Plan (PIP) to a Local
Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP) by 30 June 2018 in order to continue issuing
infrastructure charges and impose conditions about trunk infrastructure on development.
Since January 2014 to May 2017, $8,140,336 has been collected in infrastructure charges
equating to a current average of $198,545 per month or $2,382,537 per annum. The 2016/2017
budget has conservatively estimated the infrastructure charges revenue at $1,687,329 and at the
time of writing this report, $2,861,837 had been receipted by Council for this financial year.
A long term risk of LGIPs is the commitment ultimately made to provide future infrastructure at
the desired standards of service to meet development growth.
