1.0 Introduction
1.1 Project Description
This Vegetation Management Plan (VMP) has been prepared in answer to a request from the Noosa
Springs Community Body Corporate for Noosa & District Landcare group to undertake a survey of
the Lake Weyba shorefront portion of the estate with a view to establishment of a viable fire trail
and future weed control in this area. This is described in correspondence between Noosa Springs
Community Body Corporate and Noosa Council as The Palms Precinct Common Property: GTP No
107028: “The Palms escarpment comprises a non-residential corridor of approximately 50 m width
positioned on a moderate to steep sloping escarpment between the Lake Weyba foreshore to the
west and south and residential dwellings to the north and east. The vegetation corridor is continuous
along the lake foreshore to the north and south abutting land on the foreshore under Council control.
That Crown land of varying width is located between the common property boundary and the waters
edge of Lake Weyba.”

This area is referred to as the ‘Plan area’ in this Plan. The Map at Appendix 1 shows the Plan area.

1.2 Legislative Requirements
To be advised by Council.

1.3 Objectives
This VMP aims to:

       Survey the site to identify a viable fire trail route.
       Survey the site to identify weed infestations that may be controlled in future.
       Provide a weed species list along with recommendations for control including control
        priorities and methods.
       Meet with Noosa Springs Community Body Corporate and Noosa Council representatives on
        site to discuss future actions arising from this plan.
