SERVICE AREA – PROCUREMENT
Summary
Objective: Provide effective procurement support and guidance across internal and external client/stakeholder groups,
throughout the procurement lifecycle.
Activities
➢ Procurement - to provide procurement services, strategies and advice that enables Council to be
sustainable, agile, future focused and compliant in its purchasing activity.
➢ Contracts - coordinate the establishment of Value for Money contracts for Goods and Services.
➢ Strategy - develop and implement strategies that strengthen Councils capability across the procurement
lifecycle.

Service Delivery Model The service is managed in-house with a hybrid model of:
➢ Specialist (business partner) procurement advisors who centrally
coordinate the design and delivery tenders and other high value/complex
procurement activities.
➢ Specialist procurement officers who provide procurement and contracting
support across the decentralised purchasing environment, with a specific
focus on contracts of $15,000 - $200,000 (GST exc.).
