Finance
A budget allocation of $48,635 for the removal of the existing structures and rehabilitation of the
creek embankments has been considered in the previous report. There are significant whole of life
costs in proceeding with the construction of a replacement bridge. The cost benefit to the local
community and the overall Noosa community is minimal based on an average of three pedestrians
observed in the proximity of the Gumtree Drive bridge. The whole of life costs for any of these
options considered in the report, is estimated as an overall rate increase of 0.4% to 0.7%
(dependent on which option is preferred) for the life of the replacement asset.
Risks & Opportunities
Council has agreed to mitigate the risk by removing the existing structures by the end of the
2018/2019 financial year. The future risks to be considered are the financial commitment Council
is prepared to accept for the future by replacing the bridge.

There has been no further consideration in consulting external stakeholders for the purpose of this
report.
